The new ‘cruise ferry’ Baleària will have four Wärtsilä gas engines
The new cruise ferry Balearia, whose investment amounts to 187 million euros, will be among the ferries passenger largest in the world, with a capacity for 1,700 people, 331 cars and 3,330 linear meters for goods, and will also be the first powered passenger ship liquefied natural gas in the Mediterranean. The vessel is expected to start operating during 2019.
The new ship will also take into account the optimization of energy using photovoltaic panels to power services board, LED lighting, application of painting art in the underwater systems regulating air conditioning and optimization of the propulsion system to obtain greater efficiency, including eco-efficient measures.
